Both are Jacquère wines from Jongieux. Face à la Dent is a single-plot cuvée from old vines planted by Matè, the third generation of the estate. Regular lees stirring during ageing gives it a rounder, more structured palate. Jongieux Blanc is lighter and meant to be drunk within the year.
Yes. It keeps the freshness of Jacquère, but its fuller body lets it stand up to aged, melted Savoie cheeses: raclette, tartiflette or Savoyard fondue. It is the ideal Savoie white wine for a slightly more festive cheese dinner.
Its Jacquère plot faces directly towards the Dent du Chat, the peak that towers over Lac du Bourget. It is our best Jacquère plot: this terroir gives the wine a complexity and depth that are unusual for this grape.
