Description

Marestel, a cru of Roussette de Savoie, is a rich and refined wine, perfect for pairing with the finest dishes such as pan-fried foie gras or scallops. This exceptional wine comes from the small hillside of Marestel, located in the municipality of Jongieux, whose ideal exposure gives it remarkable qualities. The terroir, situated on the slopes of Mont Charvaz, offers a splendid panorama of the Rhône and the Ain department. It is a difficult place to access, with some parcels not being mechanized and slopes reaching up to 70%, making the use of a hotte essential during harvest.

Marestel is cultivated on only 25 hectares, of which 0.75 belong to Domaine Chevallier Bernard, making it a rare and precious wine. Very different from Roussette de Savoie in aromas and taste right from the harvest, it stands out due to its slow fermentation, which allows it to develop its full aromatic richness. This wine is part of the great white wines of Savoie with aging potential. Over time, it gains complexity. Once discovered, you will enjoy sharing it and introducing it to your loved ones.

Yes, it is one of Savoie's great white wines with ageing potential. It can age for 3 to 8 years, longer in a great vintage, and gains complexity over time.

It is a wine for fine dining: pan-seared foie gras, scallops, fine fish in sauce such as our salmon with hollandaise sauce, or soft, runny cheeses like baked Mont d’Or.

Both are made from Altesse, but Marestel is very different right from the harvest. Its slow fermentation gives it more richness, notes of honey and toasted almond, and a longer finish than Roussette de Savoie.
