Description

Chardonnay, a globally known grape variety, has been cultivated in Savoie for a long time and is part of our region's winemaking heritage. On our estate, we cultivate Chardonnay on 0.80 hectares, with the oldest plot dating back to 1964. The grapes are hand-harvested and immediately pressed upon arrival at the winery to preserve their freshness. After pressing, the juice ferments under temperature control to ensure optimal fermentation.

The Chardonnay of Jongieux is distinguished by its beautiful pale yellow color and delicate nose with white flower aromas. On the palate, it offers a creamy texture and great finesse. This elegant and fruity wine pairs wonderfully with fish or poultry dishes and is an excellent choice for lovers of white wines from Savoie.

Yes. Chardonnay has long been grown in Savoie and is part of the region's winemaking heritage. At the estate, we grow it on 0.80 hectare of limestone hillsides in Jongieux, with our oldest plot planted in 1964.

It all depends on the occasion. Jacquère is crisp and light, perfect as an aperitif or with fondue. Chardonnay is creamier and more floral, for fish and poultry. Roussette is floral with a hint of honey, and Marestel is our great white wine for ageing.

It pairs with fish in sauce, poultry in cream sauce, hard cooked cheeses and gratin dishes, such as our gratinéed Milanese escalope.

It is best enjoyed within 2 to 4 years to make the most of its liveliness and fruit.
